Robert-Jean has over 30 years of experience in European business. Following a degree in engineering and an MBA, he has worked, primarily in the aerospace sector, in all aspects of business from technical to sales and marketing. He founded in 1974 and built up Ames Industrial Limited, which was subsequently sold in 1990 (renamed as Microturbo Ltd.) to the Labinal Group. He remained Managing Director of Microturbo for Labinal (now Snecma Group) for a further three years, having responsibility for subsidiaries in France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States.
In addition to his French mother tongue, he is fluent in English and Italian and has an excellent understanding of Spanish.
Robert-Jean is now an independent director of various European companies and an adviser to aerospace companies. He is a former judge magistrate and until recently was Chairman of the Institute of Directors France as well as having served on the committee of the Chambre Française de Commerce de Grande-Bretagne.
